Delhi-NCR to Shift to CNG and Electric Autos from Jan 2026 – CAQM New Rules

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has issued new guidelines to accelerate the adoption of clean mobility in Delhi-NCR. The directions mandate that motor vehicle aggregators, delivery service providers, and e-commerce platforms must transition their fleets to CNG and Electric 3-Wheeler Auto Rickshaws.

From January 1 of next year, these entities will no longer be allowed to induct 2-Wheelers and 4-Wheeler Light Commercial Vehicles that use conventional Internal Combustion Engines (ICEs). The governments of Delhi and NCR states have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with these rules within their jurisdictions.
