The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Navy conducted four successful in-flight release trials of the indigenous Air Droppable Container ADC-150 from the Boeing P-8I Poseidon aircraft off the coast of Goa between 21 February and 1 March 2026.
The ADC-150 is designed to deliver payloads of up to 150 kg, enabling rapid supply of critical stores, equipment, and medical aid to naval ships deployed far from the coast. The successful trials demonstrated the system’s capability under various extreme release conditions.
With the completion of all developmental flight trials, the ADC-150 system is expected to be inducted into the Indian Navy soon, strengthening its operational logistics and emergency response capability in the open seas.
