World Malaria Day is observed on 25 April 2025 to raise global awareness and promote efforts to control and eliminate malaria. Organised by the World Health Organisation (WHO), this year’s theme, “Malaria ends with us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite,” calls for renewed commitment at all levels.
Malaria, spread by infected female Anopheles mosquitoes, remains a serious threat in tropical and subtropical regions. The day recognises progress made, remembers lives lost, and encourages continued innovation, public involvement, and preventive measures to fight the disease.
