BSF Commander Parimal Kumar Ghosh, First Indian Officer to Aid Bangladesh Freedom Fighters, Passes Away at 84

Parimal Kumar Ghosh, a legendary commander of the Border Security Force (BSF), passed away on 7 July 2023 in New Delhi at the age of 84. Ghosh was reportedly the first Indian military officer to assist Bangladesh freedom fighters during the 1971 liberation war. Ghosh served as a commander in the 92nd Battalion of the BSF and was stationed in Tripura when the freedom movement in Bangladesh began.
