  • In 1941, Bose escaped from British India and traveled to Germany. He met with Adolf Hitler and other Nazi leaders, but was unable to secure their full support for the Indian independence movement.
  • In 1943, Bose traveled to Japan, where he established the Indian National Army (INA). The INA was a force of Indian soldiers who fought alongside the Japanese against the British.
  • Bose’s leadership of the INA inspired millions of Indians. He was known for his fiery speeches and his commitment to Indian independence.
  • Bose is believed to have died in a plane crash in 1945. However, his legacy lives on. He is considered to be one of the greatest heroes of India’s freedom struggle.
