Govt plans to develop more than 250 projects with Ropeway length of over 1200 Km in 5 years under Parvatmala Pariyojana

During his address at the INTERALPIN 2023 Fair in Innsbruck, Austria on 19 April 2023, Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the government’s plan to develop more than 250 projects under the Parvatmala Pariyojana. These projects will have a total Ropeway length of over 1200 kilometers and will be completed within 5 years.

Mr. Gadkari also highlighted the government’s Make in India initiative, which promotes the manufacturing of ropeway components. He encouraged the Austrian and European industries to participate in the enhancement of existing ropeway standards to ensure sustainable and safer transport. He emphasized that the focus of the government is on Public Private Partnership (PPP) under Hybrid Annuity Model, with 60% contribution support by the Government of India.
