India has become the 3rd largest exporter of smartphones globally, climbing from the 23rd rank in 2019. In November 2024, the country’s smartphone exports surpassed ₹20,000 crore in a single month, representing a 92% increase compared to November 2023 (₹10,634 crore).
This milestone exceeds the expectations set under the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, which aimed to export 70-75% of production value in FY 2024-25. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw celebrated this achievement, calling it a “Making Bharat Story.”
