Indian Women wrestlers bag seven medals to finish third at Asian Wrestling Championship in Kazakhstan

Indian women wrestlers have achieved a remarkable feat by winning a total of seven medals at the Asian Wrestling Championships held in Astana, Kazakhstan from 9 to 14 April 2013. Out of these, two medals were silver and five were bronze. This achievement has led to India securing the third position in the Women’s Teams Ranking.

Antim Panghal and Nisha Dahiya were the two Indian wrestlers who won silver medals in their respective weight categories of 53-kg and 68-kg. Anshu Malik, Sonam Malik, Manisha, and Reetika were the other Indian wrestlers who claimed bronze medals at the event.

In the previous edition of the championships, India had won five medals and finished in fourth place. However, this time around, the Indian women’s wrestling team has surpassed their previous performance and exceeded expectations.
