President Droupadi Murmu conferred highest honour – Companion of the Order of Fiji

President Droupadi Murmu, on a two-day visit to Fiji, was conferred the Companion of the Order of Fiji, the highest honor of Fiji, by President Williame Katonivere. She received a ceremonial guard of honor from the Fiji Military Force upon arrival in Suva and attended a traditional welcome ceremony with Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.

During her address to the Fijian Parliament, President Murmu highlighted the 75-year diplomatic association between the countries, thanked Fiji for supporting the Aditya L1 Mission, and recalled India’s assistance to Fiji during the COVID-19 crisis through the Vaccine Maitri initiative. She also stressed the importance of the Global South in advocating for climate justice for developing nations.
