23rd Summit of the SCO Council of Heads of State chaired by PM Modi on 4 July 2023

The 23rd Summit of the SCO Council of Heads of State was chaired by Prime Minister Modi, virtually on 4 July 2023.

1. The SCO currently comprises eight Member States : China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan
2. Observer States (Iran, Belarus, Mongolia), and Turkmenistan as the guest of the Chair attending.
3. India assumed the rotating Chairmanship of the SCO at the Samarkand Summit in September of the previous year.
4. The next meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State will take place in 2024 in Kazakhstan.
