- India kicked off the 2023 Asian Under-20 Athletics Championships campaign by winning three medals, including two gold, on the opening day in Yecheon, South Korea on 4th June.
- Rejoana Mallik Heena started their campaign by winning gold in women’s 400m race. Heena topped the podium with a timing of 53.31 seconds.
- Bharatpreet Singh started his campaign by winning gold in discus throw. Bharatpreet Singh cleared a distance of 55.66m in his third attempt to become the men’s U20 Asian champion in the discus throw event.
- Lastna Pal won the bronze medal in the women’s 5,000 meters with a timing of 17 minutes and 17.11 seconds.
