Bhutan’s King Wangchuck in India for 8-Day Visit

Bhutan’s King, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, came to Guwahati on November 3, 2023, for an eight-day visit to India. The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, welcomed him at the Gopinath Bordoloi Airport.

On 4 November 2023, he will visit Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Assam Government will host another cultural event there to showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage.

During the visit, the King will also meet with India’s President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The External Affairs Minister and senior officials will have meetings with the King of Bhutan.
