Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of independent India, accepted “Sengol” as a symbol of the handover of authority from the British. After this it was kept in the Allahabad Museum.

iPhone users in India can now download the ChatGPT app.

  • Earlier this week, OpenAI launched the official ChatGpt app for iPhone users.

WhatsApp users can now edit sent messages within 15 minutes.

  • Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on 22 May that WhatsApp users can now edit messages up to 15 minutes after they’ve been sent.
  • A sent message can be edited by long-pressing it and selecting the “Edit” option from the menu.
  • The company said that the global rollout of this feature has started and everyone will be able to use it in the coming weeks.

3rd cheetah dies in fight at Kuno National Park.

  • Another leopard has died in Kuno National Park of Sheopur district in Madhya Pradesh. Daksha, a female cheetah introduced from South Africa, died in a fight with other cheetahs inside the park.

Government has notified the Animal Birth Control Rules, 2023

The Central government has notified the Animal Birth Control Rules, 2023 on 18 April 2023.

The rules have addressed the Supreme Court guidelines in a writ petition between the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) and the People for Elimination of Stray Troubles.

Effective implementation of the rules will help in reducing stray dog population and addressing animal welfare issues.

The Animal Birth Control programme for sterilization and immunization of stray dogs will be carried out by local bodies, municipalities, municipal corporations and panchayats.

Municipal corporations need to implement the ABC and Anti Rabies Program jointly.

The rules provide guidelines on how to deal with human and stray dog conflicts without relocating dogs in an area.

The Central Government has issued letters to all State Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries of Animal Husbandry Department and Urban Development Department.

Sikkim Avalanche : Six tourists dead, several feared trapped at Nathula
